After Holiday Weight Loss

If you have gained the usual 5 to 10 pounds during the holidays it is time to take the weight back off. I have seen to many people gain this weight and do not do anything about it. Start slowly reducing your calories daily and start lifting weights 2 to 3 times a wee,k as well as do some type of caridovascular exercise 4 to 5 times a week for at least 30 minutes. Within a month or two you will be back to your normal weight and feeling energized again.

Holiday Eating

Be careful over the holidays. Make sure you eat small servings and do not go back for seconds. The white meat on the turkey is low in calories. Eat a potato instead of mashed potatoes. Make sure the cranberries have no sugar. Skip the stuffing and eat a very small piece of pumpkin pie. Have a wonderful Holiday.

Burn Calories While on Vacation Without Even Trying

If you are at the beach and want to burn some calories, you can walk or run on the beach, swim in the ocean, and march in place in the water. If there is a pool at your place then you can walk , run, swim or march in the pool and do not forget to move your arms, which will burn more calories.

How To Eat Healthy at an All Inclusive Resort

Visit the salad bar in the resort restaurant's buffet line before going to the other buffet areas. Use a vinaigrette dressing instead of a cream-based dressing and get it on the side.

Go for fresh fruit as your dessert.

Choose a traditionally lean meat like fish or poultry instead of fattier meats like pork and beef. Pay attention to how the dish is prepared, avoiding dishes that are smothered in creams or gravies.

Drink water instead of soda or juice.

Choose your alcoholic beverages carefully. Avoid drinks that have alot of sugar like pina coladas.

Opt for a plated dining option instead of the buffet line. Many resorts have standard restaurants where you order a single entree instead of being tempted with the buffet's seemingly unlimited choices.
